Why do you use 18 carat gold for your settings and not 14 carat gold or 9 carat gold ?
Eighteen carat gold is the noblest metal alloy that has ever existed. Have a look at the windows of jewellers on Bond Street in London, Fifth Avenue in New York, Place Vendôme in Paris, and you will see that the only type of gold that is used there is 18 carat gold. It is the reference alloy used in high-end jewellery all over the world and although Keratia do not sell natural diamonds, all the other aspects in the creation of the jewellery are completed to the same exacting standards as with high-end jewellery. You will appreciate the weight of the gold when you take your jewellery in your hand. All our jewellery is hallmarked 18 carat gold.
What quality of cubic zirconia do you use ?
Keratia have selected stones only of the highest quality. This is what makes Keratia so different from its competitors. Keratia go a very long way in order to ensure that their customers really have the 'crème de la crème' as far as quality in concerned. For the cut of the stone, e.g. Keratia only use stones with the 'Hearts and Arrows' cut. This is an ideal cut which brings out the most of every stone : the symmetry, the finish is perfect. The customer has a stone with more sparkle, brilliance and scintillation that any other Cubic Zirconia (and 99.5 % of most diamonds). Yes, this is a carefully considered decision. We have chosen settings that are timeless and that we know are classical and elegant at the same time. We do not want to lead our customers in the wrong direction and let them choose models that are not in tune with the effect that they want to generate. We consider that part of our mission is to suggest to our customers only models that are going to accompany them through their whole life. As well as our experience in the UK, we have twenty years of experience in Paris and on the French Riviera, and we dare say that we know what is elegance and sophistication. There are only solitaires on your website
Yes, that's right. The jewellery you are buying from Keratia is for the long term. You still want to be happy to wear it in 30, 40 years. Remember that fashions come and go : sometimes pavé rings are the flavour of the month, sometimes eternity rings, sometimes other designs... The only timeless and everlasting piece of jewellery that you will always wear proudly throughout your life is a solitaire. You will also notice that all our stones are round. We do not propose square or pear-shaped or marquise cuts, etc. This is not by chance. A round stone - whether it is a natural diamond or a replica diamond - is the most sparkling that has ever existed. The cut of the stone, with its 57 facets, makes the scintillation, the reflection and refraction of the light much higher than with other cuts, like pear, square, marquise, etc...
